Kinder- Und Hausmärchen (1812/15) Teil 3

Kinder- und Hausmärchen (1812/15) Teil 3

by Jacob & Wilhelm Grimm

This volume presents a selection from the first edition of the famous collection of German folk tales, *Kinder- und Hausmärchen*, published in 1812/15. This first edition contains stories that were later softened and made more palatable for a predominantly middle-class audience. The original version includes tales like *Rapunzel* where she becomes pregnant and *Hänsel und Gretel*, who are abandoned by their own mother, not a stepmother. It also features stories with a Huguenot background, such as *Der gestiefelte Kater* (Puss in Boots), which is absent in later editions. This edition, annotated by the Brothers Grimm themselves, is part of UNESCO's World Heritage list.
