'Man in Lower Ten' Summary
Lawrence Blakeley, a lawyer, is tasked with delivering forged bank notes to Pittsburgh and obtaining a statement from John Gilmore confirming their authenticity. When his partner, McKnight, declines the mission due to a weekend getaway, Blakeley reluctantly takes on the responsibility. After a seemingly uneventful trip, Blakeley wakes to find his belongings, including the forged notes, have vanished from his train berth. Adding to the chaos, he discovers the body of a fellow passenger in the adjacent berth.
