'Man in Lower Ten' Summary
Lawrence Blakeley, a lawyer, is tasked with delivering forged bank notes to Pittsburgh and obtaining a statement from John Gilmore confirming their authenticity. When his partner, McKnight, declines the mission due to a weekend getaway, Blakeley reluctantly takes on the responsibility. After a seemingly uneventful trip, Blakeley wakes to find his belongings, including the forged notes, have vanished from his train berth. Adding to the chaos, he discovers the body of a fellow passenger in the adjacent berth. The situation takes a turn for the worse when the murder weapon is found under Blakeley's pillow, making him the prime suspect. Blakeley is now facing accusations of both theft and murder. As he navigates the tangled web of deceit and suspicion, he must rely on his cunning and detective skills to uncover the truth. With the aid of a sharp-witted detective and a captivating female character, Blakeley sets out to expose the real culprit and clear his name. The investigation takes him through a series of twists and turns, leading him closer to the heart of a conspiracy involving secrets, betrayal, and a dark past. Through clever deduction and unexpected alliances, Blakeley ultimately exposes the true mastermind behind the crimes, restoring justice and revealing the truth about the events that unfolded on that fateful train journey.Book Details
