Marcia Schuyler

by Grace Livingston Hill

Marcia Schuyler is a young and compassionate woman who finds herself drawn into a complex love triangle. Her older sister, Kate, is vain and selfish, and their personalities clash as Kate prepares to marry the respected and handsome David Spafford. However, on the eve of the wedding, Kate elopes with another man, leaving David heartbroken. In a moment of pity for David's heartbreak, Marcia offers to take Kate's place to prevent him from further humiliation. As she fulfills her duty, Marcia unexpectedly finds herself falling in love with David, who is still grieving for his lost fiancée. The story explores the themes of sacrifice, selflessness, and duty as Marcia navigates her feelings, knowing that David's love for Kate may never be fully extinguished. Will Marcia be able to find her own happiness, or will she be forever overshadowed by her sister's actions?
