'Ὁμήρου Ὀδύσσεια (Ραψῳδία 01) - The Odyssey (Book 01)' Summary
The Odyssey begins with Odysseus, the king of Ithaca, held captive on the island of Calypso. Athena, the goddess of wisdom, appeals to Zeus, the king of the gods, to intervene and allow Odysseus to return home. Meanwhile, in Ithaca, Odysseus's son Telemachus sets out to find his father. He travels to Pylos and Sparta, where he learns of his father's adventures and receives guidance from Nestor and Menelaus. Back in Ithaca, Telemachus confronts the suitors who are vying for his mother Penelope's hand in marriage. After a series of trials and tribulations, Odysseus returns to Ithaca in disguise. He reunites with his son, Telemachus, and together they plot to drive out the suitors. In a climactic battle, Odysseus and Telemachus defeat the suitors and reclaim the kingdom of Ithaca.Book Details
