O conto “Negrinha” narra a história de uma menina negra órfã, adotada por uma família rica e branca, mas que sofre constante maus-tratos e negligência. A narrativa explora a brutalidade da desigualdade social e racial na sociedade brasileira do início do século XX, retratando a vida difícil de Negrinha, que busca afeto e compreensão em um ambiente hostil.
