No Quarter!
'No Quarter!' Summary
The book begins with the election of the "Long Parliament" in 1640. This Parliament was dominated by Puritans, who were opposed to the policies of King Charles I. The Parliament and the King soon came into conflict, and in 1642 the English Civil War broke out. The war lasted for six years and resulted in the execution of King Charles I and the establishment of the Commonwealth. The book provides a detailed account of the war, and offers insights into the political and social forces that shaped this period of English history.Book Details
