Marcelo, un abogado de Madrid, viaja a un pueblo remoto de la montaña cántabra para resolver unos asuntos familiares. Al principio, el choque cultural es grande, pero poco a poco se va adaptando a la vida rural. La imponente naturaleza y las costumbres tradicionales del lugar lo cautivan, y su forma de pensar y de vivir se transforma radicalmente.
