'Quirt' Summary
Britt Hunter, a small-time rancher, lives on his modest spread, the Quirt, surrounded by the vast holdings of the powerful Sawtooth Ranch. Though he manages to scrape by, he constantly faces pressure from the Sawtooth, which desires to expand its operations. The peace of the Quirt is shattered when Britt's daughter, raised in the city, arrives for a visit. She becomes an unwitting witness to a murder, putting her and her father in direct conflict with the Sawtooth.
