'Return of Alfred' Summary
Alfred, a World War I veteran, is adrift and bored with his old life. He finds himself lost in Norfolk after an argument with his uncle and a railway strike. Taking shelter in a country home, he is identified by the butler as 'Mr. Alfred', the missing son of the house. Initially, Alfred protests, but the villagers are convinced.
