Romancero Viejo

Romancero Viejo

by Anonymous

The Romancero Viejo is a collection of anonymous Spanish ballads from the Middle Ages. These ballads were originally part of longer epic poems, but they were later separated and transmitted orally. The Romancero Viejo was first compiled in the 19th century by Agustín Durán, and it has since been expanded and studied by other scholars.
