'St. Joseph of Copertino' Summary
Joseph of Copertino was born in 1603 in Cupertino, Italy. He was a simple and devout man who experienced ecstatic visions from childhood. He was rejected by the Conventual Franciscan friars due to his lack of education, but was eventually admitted to their Order after several years of working in their stables. He was ordained a priest in 1625 and continued to experience ecstatic visions throughout his life. Joseph of Copertino was known for his ability to levitate and for his intense love of God. He died in 1663 and was canonized in 1767. He is the patron saint of students and of those who fly.Book Details
