Summa Theologica - 09 Pars Prima Secundae, Treatise on Law and Grace
'Summa Theologica - 09 Pars Prima Secundae, Treatise on Law and Grace' Summary
Questions 90-114 of the Prima Secundae (\"First-half of the Second Part\" of Summa Theologica) comprise Treatises on Law and Grace. Law, according to Aquinas, is an ordinance of reason promulgated by a superior for the common good. Law can be either eternal (existing in the mind of God), natural (derived from human nature), or human (created by human authority). Grace is a gift from God that helps us to live in accordance with the law. Aquinas argues that grace is necessary for salvation, but that it does not destroy free will. He also discusses the different types of grace and the effects of grace on the human soul.Book Details
