That Night
'That Night' Summary
The poem begins with the speaker, a young boy, lying in bed on a warm summer night. He listens to the sounds of the crickets and the frogs outside, and the smell of the honeysuckle drifting through the open window. As he drifts off to sleep, he remembers other summer nights from his childhood, filled with swimming, fishing, and playing with friends.
