Muriel Roscoe has come to India to live with her father, a general. When the fort where they are staying comes under attack, General Roscoe charges the dauntless, wisecracking soldier Nick Ratcliffe with the responsibility for getting Muriel away in safety. The two manage to escape, but the experience is harrowing for Muriel. Meanwhile, Nick has fallen in love with her.
