Justin Blake, a young man with a quiet nature, unexpectedly finds himself on a Christmas adventure. He is invited to stay with his old schoolmate, Tom Temple, at their family home in Yorkshire. During his train journey, he meets Miss Forrest, a captivating woman who immediately catches his eye.
