'Eneida' Summary
The Aeneid is divided into twelve books. The first six books tell the story of Aeneas's journey from Troy to Italy. Along the way, he encounters many challenges, including storms, monsters, and hostile natives. He also falls in love with Dido, the queen of Carthage. However, Aeneas is destined to found Rome, and he eventually leaves Dido to continue his journey. The last six books of the Aeneid tell the story of Aeneas's war against the Rutulians, a local tribe in Italy. Aeneas is victorious in the war and eventually marries Lavinia, the daughter of King Latinus. The Aeneid ends with the founding of Rome and the promise of a glorious future for the Roman people.Book Details
