Amiable Charlatan

Amiable Charlatan

by E. Phillips Oppenheim

Paul Walmsley, an Englishman, is enjoying his dinner at Stephano's when a stranger enters and sits at his table. The stranger begins eating Paul's food and hands him a packet under the table. The packet contains a note that says, "Meet me at the park at midnight." Paul is intrigued and decides to meet the stranger. At the park, Paul meets Joseph H. Parker, an American adventurer, and his lovely daughter, Eve. Parker tells Paul that he is on a mission to find a lost treasure. He asks Paul to help him, and Paul agrees. The three of them embark on an adventure that will take them to exotic locations and involve them in dangerous situations.
