Book 7 of Anna Karenina continues the story of Anna and Vronsky's affair. Anna becomes increasingly irrational and jealous, while Vronsky grows weary of her demands. Meanwhile, Levin, Kitty's husband, struggles with his own temptations while in Moscow. Stiva, Anna's brother, presses Karenin to divorce Anna, but Karenin refuses.
