'Arabian Nights Entertainments, Volume 03' Summary
Scheherazade, the daughter of the vizier, is married to the tyrannical King Shahryar, who has vowed to marry a new woman each night and have her killed the next morning. Scheherazade devises a plan to save her own life by telling the king a story each night. She leaves the story unfinished at the end of each night, so that the king is curious to hear the rest and spares her life. Scheherazade tells the king a total of 1001 stories over the course of 1001 nights. The stories range from romantic adventures to comedies to tragedies. They feature a cast of characters from all walks of life, and they offer a glimpse into the culture and history of the Middle East.Book Details
