Ball Of Fat (Boule De Suif) Version 2

Ball of Fat (Boule de suif) Version 2

by Guy de Maupassant

Ball of Fat is a powerful and moving story set during the Franco-Prussian War. It follows a group of travelers as they make their way across occupied France. Among them is a prostitute named Boule de Suif, who is ostracized by the other travelers because of her profession. However, when the travelers are stopped by Prussian soldiers, Boule de Suif is the one who saves them by sacrificing her body. Maupassant's story is a scathing indictment of the hypocrisy and social injustice that existed in France during the war. It is also a moving tribute to the power of compassion and the importance of accepting people for who they are, regardless of their social status.
