'Bible (YLT) 17: Esther' Summary

The Book of Esther begins with King Ahasuerus (traditionally identified with Xerxes I) holding a grand feast in his palace. He divorces his queen, Vashti, for refusing to obey his command. He later chooses Esther, a beautiful Jewish woman, as his new queen.
