The Bobbsey Twins are four children who live in a small town with their parents. Bert and Nan are 12 years old and are fraternal twins. Flossie and Freddie are six years old and are also fraternal twins. The book follows the children as they go on various adventures, both indoors and out. They have a treehouse in their backyard where they often play. They also have a dog named Snoop who is always getting into trouble.
