Book Of A Thousand Nights And A Night (Arabian Nights), Volume 07

Book of A Thousand Nights and a Night (Arabian Nights), Volume 07

by Anonymous

The Book of One Thousand and One Nights (also known as the Arabian Nights) is a collection of Middle Eastern folk tales compiled in Arabic during the Islamic Golden Age. The tales were collected over many centuries by various authors, translators, and scholars across the Middle East and South Asia. The stories are woven together through the framing device of the tale of Scheherazade, who tells her husband King Shahryar a story each night to delay her execution. Many of the tales in the collection have become famous in their own right, including "Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves" and "The Voyages of Sinbad the Sailor". This particular volume of the Book of One Thousand and One Nights contains tales from the seventh volume of the sixteen-volume translation by Richard Francis Burton.
