The third letter is from a young woman named Miss Jane to her friend Lady Greville. Miss Jane is in love with a man named Lord Greville, but he is not interested in her. Miss Jane writes to Lady Greville to ask for advice. The fourth letter is from a young woman named Ellen Greville to her friend Henrietta Halton. Ellen is in love with a man named Tom Musgrove, but he is in love with another woman. Ellen writes to Henrietta to ask for advice. The fifth letter is from a young woman named Lady Scudamore to her friend Mrs. Williams. Lady Scudamore is in love with a man named Mr. Williams, but he is married to another woman.
