Miss Jane writes to Lady Greville to ask for advice. The fourth letter is from a young woman named Ellen Greville to her friend Henrietta Halton. Ellen is in love with a man named Tom Musgrove, but he is in love with another woman. Ellen writes to Henrietta to ask for advice. The fifth letter is from a young woman named Lady Scudamore to her friend Mrs. Williams. Lady Scudamore is in love with a man named Mr. Williams, but he is married to another woman.
