Dave Brings Home A Wife
by Steele Rudd
'Dave Brings Home A Wife' Summary
Dave Rudd, a shy farmer, finally marries Lily White, a “Girl from Town.” They move in with Dave’s family on their extensive Rudd property, but soon friction develops between Lily and Dave’s sister, Sarah. Dave and Lily decide to have a separate house of their own, but Dave’s father, a prosperous farmer who started out with his wife and children in a two-room settler’s slab-hut, insists that they start out their married life in a forty-year-old abandoned shack. They acquiesce, and in time even become rather contented there. But soon, Dave’s mother-in-law arrives for a visit, and cranky old Dad Rudd finally meets his nemesis.Book Details
