This novel follows the continued journey of Richard Hunter, previously known as 'Ragged Dick,' as he navigates the challenges and opportunities of upward mobility in 19th-century New York City. Richard, guided by his strong moral compass, continues to strive for success through hard work and determination. However, his path is not without obstacles.
