'Gate of the Giant Scissors' Summary
Joyce is an American girl who is sent to boarding school in France. She is excited to experience a new culture and make new friends. She quickly becomes friends with Jules, a young French boy who lives near the school. Together, they explore Paris and the surrounding countryside. Joyce also learns about French history and culture. She visits the Louvre Museum, the Eiffel Tower, and Notre Dame Cathedral. She also tries new foods and learns to speak French.As Joyce spends more time in France, she begins to feel more at home. She makes new friends and learns about the French way of life. She also begins to appreciate the beauty of the French countryside. She enjoys spending time in the gardens of the school and taking walks in the nearby forest.As Joyce's time in France comes to an end, she is sad to leave. She has made many new friends and learned a great deal about herself and the world. She knows that she will always cherish her memories of her time in France.Book Details
