'Gespenst von Canterville' Summary
Die amerikanische Familie Otis kauft das Schloss Canterville, obwohl sie vor dem dort lebenden Gespenst Sir Simon de Canterville gewarnt wird. Der Geist versucht, die Familie mit seinen Spukereien zu erschrecken, doch die Otis sind wenig beeindruckt. Die beiden jüngeren Söhne spielen dem Gespenst Streiche, Mr. Otis ölt dessen Ketten, und der ältere Sohn entfernt den sich ständig erneuernden Blutfleck in der Bibliothek mit einem modernen Fleckentferner. Nur die Tochter Virginia zeigt Mitgefühl für Sir Simon. Durch ihre Freundlichkeit und ihren Mut gelingt es ihr, dem Geist zu helfen, die irdische Ebene zu verlassen und endlich Frieden zu finden.
