Heiligen Wassern

heiligen Wassern

by Jakob Christoph Heer

In the secluded village of Sankt Peter, nestled amidst the towering Swiss Alps, the lives of the inhabitants revolve around a precarious water conduit that safeguards their existence. This marvel of engineering, built amidst treacherous terrain, holds immense significance and is deeply entwined with local folklore. However, the constant threat of glacier collapses looms over the village, casting a shadow of uncertainty. The 'Water Tröstung', a ritual steeped in superstition, determines the fate of those who must embark on the perilous task of repairing the conduit. When the Blatter family is confronted with this daunting challenge, their lives are irrevocably transformed. The novel delves into the interplay of tradition, faith, and the indomitable spirit of a community grappling with the forces of nature and the complexities of human existence.
