'Henry the Fifth' Summary
Henry V was born in 1387, the son of Henry IV and Mary de Bohun. He was a sickly child, but he grew into a strong and athletic young man. He was also a skilled swordsman and archer. In 1413, Henry V became king at the age of 26. He quickly set about reforming the government and the army. He also launched a campaign to reclaim the English throne in France. In 1415, Henry V led his army to a famous victory at the Battle of Agincourt. This victory gave England a strong position in the Hundred Years' War. Henry V continued to campaign in France until his death in 1422. He was succeeded by his son, Henry VI.Book Details
