'History of David Grieve' Summary
David Grieve is a young man who grows up in poverty in the industrial midlands of England. He dreams of a better life for himself and his family, but his plans are thwarted by the social and economic conditions of the time. When he falls in love with Lucy, the daughter of a wealthy industrialist, he is faced with a difficult choice. He must either give up his love or fight for their happiness in a world that is stacked against them.
