In the enchanting city of Venice, Count Bassino, a Savoyard, finds himself entangled in a web of forbidden love. Despite being married to Placentia, his heart belongs to the captivating Aurelia. However, Aurelia is already betrothed to Alonzo, a Venetian gentleman. The play unfolds amidst a flurry of secret letters, disguised identities, and clandestine meetings.
