Fortunes Of Glencore

Fortunes of Glencore

by Charles James Lever

Viscount Glencore is a wealthy and powerful man, but he is also a deeply unhappy one. His wife has left him, and he has disowned his son, whom he believes to be illegitimate. Glencore is determined to exact revenge on his wife, but his plans are thwarted when his son runs away. Glencore's old friend, Upton, agrees to become the boy's guardian, and the two of them set out on a journey to find the boy and bring him home. Along the way, they encounter a cast of characters who will challenge their beliefs and ultimately help them to see the error of their ways.
