Klaasje Zevenster, deel 1
'Klaasje Zevenster, deel 1' Summary
In 1820s Leiden, a group of carefree students find a baby girl on their doorstep on Sinterklaas Eve. This unexpected discovery leads them to raise the child, whom they name Klaasje Zevenster, together. As Klaasje grows, she experiences the warmth and camaraderie of her 'fathers', but her life takes an unexpected turn when she is sent away to a boarding school. Later, she is placed in the care of Gerlof Bol, one of her original guardians, who has since become a clergyman. Klaasje's experiences with Gerlof and the evolving world around her shape her character and reveal the complexities of love, family, and societal expectations in 19th-century Netherlands. This first part of the five-part saga provides a compelling foundation for Klaasje's journey, leaving the reader eager to learn more about her future adventures and the impact she will have on the lives of those around her.Book Details
