Little Room and Other Stories
'Little Room and Other Stories' Summary
In Madeline Yale Wynne's "Little Room and Other Stories," the boundaries between reality and the supernatural blur, and the darkness lurking within the human mind is laid bare. The title story, "Little Room," is a haunting tale of isolation and the horrors that can reside within the human psyche. The protagonist, a young woman named Sarah, finds herself trapped in a mysterious and oppressive little room, where her sanity is slowly eroded by the unseen forces that surround her. "My Ghost of a Chance" is a more lighthearted tale, following the misadventures of a young woman who inherits a haunted house. In "The Voice," the protagonist, a woman named Mary, is tormented by an unseen presence that whispers to her constantly, driving her to the brink of madness. With prose that is both lyrical and unsettling, Wynne weaves a tapestry of stories that explore the hidden corners of the human psyche, the fragility of reality, and the darkness that can dwell within us all.Book Details
