Metamorfoze

by Louis Couperus

Metamorfoze is a novel by Dutch author Louis Couperus, first published in 1897. The novel tells the story of Hugo Aylva, a young writer who is struggling to find his place in the world and to come to terms with his own identity. As Aylva grapples with his own demons, he also comes to realize the importance of art and literature in helping us to understand ourselves and the world around us.
