'Mount Rushmore National Memorial' Summary
The Mount Rushmore National Memorial is a colossal sculpture carved into the side of Mount Rushmore in the Black Hills of South Dakota. The sculpture features the heads of four U.S. Presidents – Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Theodore Roosevelt. The memorial was conceived by Doane Robinson of South Dakota and designed by renowned sculptor Gutzon Borglum. Borglum oversaw the construction of the memorial along with his son Lincoln. The memorial was dedicated on August 24, 1941.Book Details
