'Niels Klim's Journey under the Ground' Summary
Niels Klim, a Norwegian student, falls through a cave into an underground world. There, he encounters a variety of strange and wonderful creatures, each representing a different aspect of human society. Through his interactions with them, Niels learns about the strengths and weaknesses of different cultures and governments, and ultimately comes to a greater understanding of himself and his own world. Along the way, he encounters talking animals, flying humans, and even a society of women who rule over men. Through these encounters, Niels learns about the follies of human nature and the importance of tolerance and understanding.Book Details
