'Notre-Dame de Paris' Summary
L'oeuvre se déroule au Moyen Âge à Paris, dans la cathédrale Notre-Dame. Elle raconte l'histoire tragique d'Esmeralda, une belle bohémienne convoitée par trois hommes : l'archidiacre Frollo, le sonneur de cloches difforme Quasimodo et le Capitaine Phoebus. La jalousie et les manipulations de Frollo entraînent la mort de Phoebus et l'emprisonnement d'Esmeralda. Quasimodo, secrètement amoureux d'elle, la sauve et la cache dans la cathédrale. Les truands de la cour des Miracles, inquiets de sa disparition, attaquent l'édifice, livrant ainsi Esmeralda à son ennemi Frollo. Elle est pendue, sous le regard de Quasimodo qui, comprenant enfin la duplicité de Frollo, le précipite du haut des tours de Notre-Dame et meurt aux côtés d'Esmeralda.Book Details
