The Sorrows of Young Werther is a tragic love story that explores the themes of love, loss, and despair. The novel is written in the form of letters from Werther to his friend Wilhelm, and it follows Werther's descent into madness as he becomes increasingly obsessed with Charlotte. Werther's love for Charlotte is all-consuming, and he is unable to accept the fact that she does not return his feelings.
