'Aufzeichnungen des Malte Laurids Brigge' Summary
Malte Laurids Brigge ist ein junger dänischer Dichter, der zur Jahrhundertwende nach Paris kommt. Während er durch die Stadt wandert, hält er seine Beobachtungen und Reflexionen in einer Reihe von Tagebucheinträgen fest. Maltes Einträge sind voller Verzweiflung und Angst, als er darum kämpft, seinen Platz in der Welt zu finden. Er wird von Gedanken an Tod, Krankheit und Armut heimgesucht. Er steht der Gesellschaft, die er um sich herum sieht, und die er für materialistisch und seelenlos hält, auch sehr kritisch gegenüber.
