'Odyssey (Book 6)' Summary
Odysseus, shipwrecked and alone, finds himself on the shore of a strange land. As he sleeps, Athena appears to Nausicaa, the daughter of the king, and tells her to go to the river and wash her clothes. Nausicaa and her attendants set off, and as they are washing, Odysseus wakes up. He is covered in dirt and salt, and the attendants run away in fear. But Nausicaa stands her ground, and Odysseus asks her for help. Nausicaa takes pity on Odysseus and gives him food, clothing, and shelter. She also arranges for him to meet her father, King Alcinous, who agrees to help Odysseus return home.Book Details
