'One of My Sons' Summary
Arthur Outhwaite, a man going about his daily life, finds himself unexpectedly thrust into a world of mystery and peril when he encounters a young girl desperately seeking help for her ailing grandfather. He enters the grandfather's home only to witness his death, a death shrouded in enigma. The dying man, unable to reveal the identity of the recipient, entrusts Outhwaite with a crucial letter, and the responsibility to deliver it. This seemingly simple task soon plunges Outhwaite into a treacherous labyrinth of suspicion and secrets. He finds himself entangled in a family's tangled web of relationships, a family whose members are deeply connected to the deceased man's business and inheritance. Outhwaite faces an array of complex individuals, each harboring their own motives and secrets, each a potential suspect in the unfolding mystery. As Outhwaite seeks to uncover the truth about the grandfather's death and unravel the secrets surrounding the letter, he must navigate the treacherous undercurrents of the family dynamic, risking his own safety in the face of hidden agendas and a web of deception. Through his investigations, Outhwaite discovers a past filled with long-buried secrets, betrayals, and resentments that cast a shadow over the present. He must confront the truth about the deceased man's life, the family's relationships, and the true nature of the letter's significance, all while being wary of those who may be dangerous and those who are merely hiding their true intentions.Book Details
