Parnassus on Wheels
'Parnassus on Wheels' Summary
Helen McGill, a middle-aged woman tired of caring for her ailing brother, buys a traveling bookstore from its eccentric owner, Roger Mifflin. She and her two companions, a young man named Raoul and an elderly scholar named Mr. Cream, travel the countryside, selling books and sharing their love of literature with everyone they meet. Along the way, they encounter a cast of quirky and unforgettable characters, from a group of poets who live in a cave to a woman who collects first editions of children's books. Parnassus on Wheels is a celebration of books and reading, and a reminder that there is always adventure to be found in the pages of a good book.Book Details
