La rana, que ha adquirido nuevas perspectivas y conocimientos durante sus viajes, se encuentra con una sociedad que le parece estancada y poco progresista. Camba utiliza el humor y la ironía para criticar la sociedad española de la época, destacando la inmovilidad, la rigidez y la falta de apertura. A través de la mirada crítica de la rana, Camba explora temas como la identidad nacional, la cultura, la percepción del mundo y la transformación personal.
