The Manuscript Found in Saragossa is a sprawling, episodic novel that follows the adventures of a young Polish nobleman named Alphonse van Worden. Alphonse is traveling through Spain when he is caught in a storm and forced to take shelter in an abandoned inn. There, he finds a mysterious manuscript that contains a series of nested tales. As Alphonse reads the manuscript, he is drawn into a world of adventure and intrigue. He meets a cast of characters that includes beautiful princesses, brave knights, and cunning thieves.
