Rescue Dog of the High Pass
'Rescue Dog of the High Pass' Summary
Franz Halle, a kind-hearted boy who struggles with formal education, finds solace and purpose in his connection with the mountains. His loyal companion, a massive Alpine mastiff named Caesar, is a constant source of comfort and adventure. When Franz begins working at the St. Bernard Hospice, he faces challenges in proving Caesar's worth, as the dog is initially reluctant to take on the responsibilities of a working dog. However, Franz's knowledge of the mountain environment and Caesar's extraordinary ability to detect people trapped under avalanches lead them to become an invaluable rescue team. Their success in saving lives paves the way for the renowned St. Bernard rescue dogs that would later become a symbol of hope and courage in the Swiss Alps.Book Details
