Rulers of Kings: A Novel
'Rulers of Kings: A Novel' Summary
Rudolf von Hapsburg was born into a world of privilege and power. As the Crown Prince of Austria-Hungary, he was destined to rule over one of the largest empires in Europe. However, Rudolf was a complex and troubled figure. He was brilliant and charismatic but also deeply unhappy with the constraints of his role. He yearned for intellectual freedom and artistic expression, but his position made it impossible for him to live the life he desired. Rudolf's frustrations and unhappiness eventually led him to a tragic end. In 1889, he and his mistress, Baroness Mary Vetsera, were found dead in a hunting lodge. The circumstances surrounding their deaths remain shrouded in mystery, but it is believed that Rudolf committed suicide. He was just 30 years old. "Rulers of Kings" is a fascinating and tragic tale about a man who was born to rule but could not find happiness or fulfillment within the confines of his position. Atherton's novel sheds light on the complex character of Rudolf von Hapsburg and the challenges he faced as a leader and as a man.Book Details
