'Spaceship Named McGuire' Summary
Daniel Oak is a hard-boiled private investigator with a reputation for getting results. When he's hired to investigate the case of six experimental spaceships that have gone haywire, he suspects sabotage. But as he digs deeper, he discovers that the truth is more complicated than he thought. The spaceships, known as the McGuire, are equipped with a new type of artificial intelligence that gives them the ability to think for themselves. But something has gone wrong, and the ships have become uncontrollable. Oak must race against time to find out what's causing the problem before the ships can cause any more damage. As Oak investigates, he uncovers a web of corporate intrigue and government secrets. He also finds himself drawn to Dr. Elizabeth Magnus, the brilliant scientist who designed the McGuire. Magnus is determined to find out what's wrong with the ships, and she's willing to risk her own life to do it. Together, Oak and Magnus race against time to stop the McGuire before they can cause a disaster. But as they get closer to the truth, they realize that the stakes are even higher than they ever imagined.Book Details
