The Story of Rimini is a long poem that tells the tragic story of Francesca da Rimini, the duped and adulterous bride. Francesca is married to the cruel and tyrannical Gianciotto Malatesta, but she falls in love with his younger brother, Paolo. Their love affair is discovered, and they are both murdered by Gianciotto. The poem is written in a dramatic and vivid style, with much evocative scene-setting and careful portrayal of emotional conflicts.
